NVBIA Membership Growth First in the State, Nation
NVBIA brought in 50 new recruits during our 2014 membership drive—double last year’s total—and ended the drive with 589 members. It was one of our most successful drives, and we recently learned that it put us in first place—and the recipient of $2500—in the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Spring Membership Drive!
In announcing the honors, NAHB Membership Chair Michael Kurpiel, CGA, CGP, noted, “A special thanks to the members of NVBIA for your hard work in recruiting new members and growing our federation. The dedication of the local associations and their members brought in record numbers during the Spring Membership Drive campaign. We are encouraged by the membership growth and retention rates we have experienced in recent months.”
Recruiting does not stop when the membership drive wraps up, however, and in June, NVBIA was again recognized for our success in bringing in new members: This time, the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) honored us for recruiting the most new members of any chapter in the state during the month of June. We were also notified that NVBIA is listed in the Top 100 Local Associations in the entire nation as of June 30, 2014.
HBAV’s monthly recruitment incentives will continue through December, and we hope to remain at the top of the charts through the year. Want to help? Please contact Ed Messick (link to email@example.com) at 571.283.6312 if you know someone who should be an NVBIA member!
National Association of Home Builders is a trade association that helps promote the policies that make housing a national priority. Since 1942, NAHB has been serving its members, the housing industry, and the public at large.
The Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) is a 4,300-member statewide organization of home builders and firms that provide products and services to the home building industry. HBAV dedicates approximately 60% of its annual resources to representing the home building industry before state lawmakers and state regulators.
An important part of NVBIA’s mission is to provide networking opportunities for members. At formal and informal sessions members get together with others in the industry to learn about new products and services and pitch their own. Through regional dinners, lead-share breakfasts, cocktail hours and a variety of chapter functions, NVBIA members get an irreplaceable opportunity to do business with other members.
NVBIA also promotes professional development and recognition through seminars, workshops, and award programs. NVBIA conducts a full range of educational programs designed to help members achieve desired certifications, gain knowledge about hot new topics, or simply improve their business practices.
