The Associate of the Year award is presented to an associate member for significant contributions, leadership, and participation in the NVBIA’s programs, activities, events, and committees.
The Bill Berry President’s Award recognizes a member for their outstanding contributions of time, talent, and dedication to the NVBIA and building industry—often behind the scenes and with little fanfare. The award is named after Bill Berry, a former association president and industry legend, who humbly represented all of the qualities and characteristics the award is meant to embody.
The Woman in the Building Industry award is presented to a woman who has exhibited exceptional leadership throughout the year—both through professional work in the field but also mentorship to women entering the industry or wishing to advance within it. The first two recipients, Alicia Skoug and Soledad Portilla, established this award as the “Trailblazer Award” for women in the industry. This group provides several events and educational programs throughout the year to foster leadership among women and men in the industry.
This honor recognizes that NVBIA’S younger members will become the leaders of the future. Taking a leadership role as a young member not only motivates others but also creates a path to lead NVBIA to great heights in the future.
Membership is the lifeblood of NVBIA. To maintain members and recruit new members takes the special skills of patience and affable personality. Not only does this award go to one member with high recruitment percentages, but more importantly, one who motivates others to understand the importance of membership to the Association.
Many years there is a new member that takes charge and engages with NVBIA in a strong, positive manner. This award recognizes that individual. It could be a builder or an associate; young or seasoned; committee-, event-, or membership-oriented. This is a member that NVBIA wants to keep on our team. Showing spirit and engagement is the highest of honor a new member can attain.
